Fresh off a third-consecutive trip to the NCAA Women’s College World Series, Oklahoma State has reestablished itself among the nation’s elite softball programs. As the 2023 Cowgirls prepare for their chance to play on the sport’s biggest stage, check back in regularly at okstate.com for a breakdown of the OSU roster by position group. Up next, the catchers:

Taylor Tuck and Audrey Schneidmiller make for a dynamic duo. Tuck, the Stillwater-native graduate senior will serve as a veteran leader, while Schneidmiller bounces back from injury with impressive hitting potential. They will each have opportunities through the year to contribute on both offense and defense.

Tuck, in her fifth year at Oklahoma State, has served the Cowgirls extremely well in her previous four years with the team. Featuring in 38 games last season, including 28 starts, she tallied six runs on 19 hits, and knocked in 15 RBI. Expect Tuck to be a key piece in the puzzle this season as the Cowgirls look to book their trip to Oklahoma City.

Schneidmiller was kept from competition in her freshman season but has fully recovered and even further developed during the offseason. She hit a two-run home run in OSU’s 10-0 rout of Seminole State during the 2022 fall season, proving to be a capable power hitter when her number is called.

The tandem is expected to operate at the highest level behind the dish; each will be expected to catch a variety of pitches from the diverse OSU pitching staff. Equally important, their offensive contributions will be a key element of Oklahoma State’s success as the Cowgirls hunt for their fourth-consecutive trip to the Women’s College World Series.
